Massey Harris No 1 Style Engine. 3hp

Manufactured originally in Binghamton New York from 1910 to 1916 when production was moved to Weston Ontario.

The model was produced in 8 sizes ranging from 1 1/2hp to 20hp. This example is 3hp.

It can be recognised as no1 style because of the unique shaped hopper, cylinder and head being one casting that included the water jacket.

The model appears to have been superseded in 1923 by the NO 2 design.

This model, being produced in Canada, dates it between 1916 and 1923.
