Leader Ironworks Gasoline Engine - 3hp

Manufactured in Decatur, Illinois.

Little is known about Leader engines, they were built from 1906, to power a range of equipment produced by the company : pumping system, generators, compressors etc.

Only a few were built and very few are known to survive. In fact a reference book of the 1980's states that at that time none were known to exist. 

Obviously as I own one and indirectly know of another, a few must have since been discovered. 

This does mean however that Leader engines are very rare indeed.
