The company was purchased in September 1912, as the already old established firm of 'Rockford Engine Works' and adopted the Emerson-Brantingham name.

The Type 'U' engines were produced from 1915 and were available in four sizes from 1 1/2HP to 6HP. This example is 2 1/2HP and dated c1916.
