Crossley K Gas Engine.
Manufactured by Crossley Brothers, Openshaw, Manchester.
Founded in 1866 and started production of engines in 1869 with the Atmospheric Gas Engine.
The company went on to be one of the most important manufacturers of British stationary engines in history.
This model is a 'K' type. The K denotes the HP and being a single letter denotes Gas fuel. An extra letter would denote an Oil engine.
These engines are very collectable indeed and as such this engine is the most valuable in the collection.
The engine dates to c1908.
