Crossley 1075 - 8hp

Crossley Brothers of Manchester introduced the 1060 to 1095 range of engines in 1920. These could operate on a variety of fuels : petrol, paraffin, benzine, alcohol and gas.

They were rated from 5hp to 12hp - this model is 8hp. Being a Type 75 ( see ID plate) this engine would be a 1075.

These engines have a distinctive side shaft  arrangement. The top shaft operating the Magneto and Governor, the bottom carrying the valve operating cams.
