Manufactured by The Campbell Gas Engine company of Halifax.

The Campbell Samson Oil Engine was introduced in 1906 as a cheap, yet well built engine that was economical to operate. It was offered in 4 sizes from 1 1/2hp to 6hp as a slow running engine (260-330rpm).

It was superseded in 1912 by their Heavy Oil engine which became very popular.

This Samson 4hp model dates to approx 1907.
